Getting the Kitchen Ready For Passover
Attached are some tips for getting the kitchen ready for Passover, based on the teachings of Machon Shilo’s Rabbi David Bar-Hayim.
Keep in mind, in addition, that regarding various types of cleaning agents, lotions, and sprays in the house, if a dog would not eat it then one need not worry about whether it is kosher for Passover.
THE OVEN:
Clean and scrub the oven with oven cleaner, including doors, rubber seals, etc. Then put the oven on maximum temperature for a half hour.
THE GAS STOVE:
Take the pieces apart and soak them in boiling water with cleaning materials. Clean the stove top thoroughly with cleaning materials. Then, put the pieces back and leave the burners on maximum strength for 10 minutes. There is no need to cover the stove top with foil.
FOR MARBLE, GRANITE, OR STONE COUNTER TOPS :
Clean the counter tops thoroughly with cleaning agents and pour boiling water all over the counter top.
FOR SINKS:
Clean the sink thoroughly with cleaning agents and pour boiling water all over the sink.
