The tragedy and crime of the Churban ("Destruction") of Gush Katif must never be repeated.

Before the dark day occured, there was much discussion about the halachot involved and whether religious soldiers (and indeed any Jewish soldier) could participate in expelling Jews from their homes. See this virtual debate ( in Hebrew) between Rav Bar-Hayim and Rav Aviner, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Ateret Cohanim, who tried to defend the idea of "just following orders."

While this video was created before the Churban of Gush Katif, it is relevant until Gush Katif is rebuilt and such anti-Jewish ideas are permanently removed from the agenda of anyone who claims to want to be a part of the Jewish State.
